A Rainy Cove

At last I get out when it's still dark to watch the cove awaken. It is raining hard and I think I'll set up on the blue porch to view the cove from a distance, but then am tempted out, dressed warmly in my Uncle Stanton's 1929 Raccoon Fur coat made by the Hudson Bay Co. I'd be shot if I wore it anywhere else, but here in the seclusion of Bold Bluff, no one sees me! The soft rain pattered on the the copper maple leaves that nestle amongst the bare wild rose bushes and snowberries. The plump white berries danced against the gray of dawn. Rain splashed on my nose, cheeks and fogged up my glasses. Two Great Blue Herons flew into the cove, one landing on the rocks, the other in the top of a fir tree above the walkway. Shortly after, 2 Hooded Mergansers, one male and one female, flew in to dive and feed. I stood for one and a half hours out in the rain and thoroughly enjoyed myself!
